ILMAN: International Lajagoe Journal of Management and Accounting is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This publication ethics statement is based on internationally recognized guidelines for ethical publishing practices.
1. Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of articles in ILMAN represents an essential contribution to the development of knowledge in the fields of management, accounting, and business studies. A peer-reviewed journal ensures the quality of scientific work and reflects the integrity of the authors, editors, and reviewers involved in the publication process.
All parties involved in the publishing process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—must adhere to ethical standards and professional responsibility.
2. Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal.
Publication Decisions
The editor has full authority to decide which submitted manuscripts should be published based on the manuscript’s importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content without discrimination regarding race, gender, religious belief, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and the publisher.
Conflict of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without written consent from the author.
3. Duties of Reviewers
Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the quality of the journal.
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared with others.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published papers.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions involved.
4. Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors should present an accurate account of the work performed and provide an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the manuscript.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If authors use the work or words of others, it must be appropriately cited.
Multiple or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals constitutes unethical publishing behavior.
Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research, such as the study design, data collection, analysis, or manuscript preparation.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If an author discovers a significant error in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
5. Ethical Oversight
The editorial board will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and improper authorship.
Any ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct will be investigated seriously, and appropriate action will be taken when necessary.
